MGI PUBLIC SERVICE PROJECTS
MGI members will be recording Public Service Messages at The Nevada Broadcasters Association. This summer MGI members are launching a campaign to educate the public of the dangers of walking their dogs in the heat of summer on hot pavements. Also several messages include information on how to prevent pets from drowning in pools. MGI members are also recording announcements to support St. John The Baptist Greek Orthodox Church’s Greek Food Festival, which is a yearly fundraiser for the Las Vegas Church. Those recording are: Laura Manning, Mark Nolan, Rick Bindhammer,Violetta Tiang, John Duck, Larry Harrison, Adah Kennon, Catherine Ranney, Peggy Nichols, Loren Zoltan, Kosta Bakalas, and Betty Lougaris. Scripts are written by Betty Lougaris, John Duck, Rick Bindhammer and Mark Nolan. Ms. Lougaris is directing the recording performances.

LOUGARIS TO BE INDUCTED INTO NEVADA BROADCASTERS HALL OF FAME
Betty I. Lougaris, MGI Executive Director, will be inducted into the Nevada Broadcasters Hall of Fame. Ms. Lougaris, who has been a part of the broadcast and non-broadcast field most of her life, has worked as a stage actor, voice-talent, on-camera talent, as well as being a writer, director and producer.
On receiving this news, Ms. Lougaris stated “I am truly privileged to be honored by The Nevada Broadcasters Association. I knew what I wanted to do at the ripe old age of 3 years. I wanted to be an actress, singer, dancer and writer. And I did! I never did develop my singing, as I was too involved with my other talents.” The induction event will take place at the Red Rock Hotel and Casino on August 12, 2012. The Nevada Broadcasters Association members are Radio and Television stations throughout Nevada. Bob Fisher, is President and CEO, and Gary Campbell is Director of Radio.
